Pamukkale sits inland in Denizli province, and that changes how you get there. The nearest airport with regular international traffic is İzmir (ADB) at 250 km, roughly three and a half hours by road. Bodrum (BJV) is further at 290 km and about four hours, even though the map makes it look closer. Denizli's own Çardak airport is barely an hour away but carries mostly domestic flights, so most visitors land at İzmir.
Which airport to fly into
If Pamukkale is your main destination, ADB is the practical choice: the shortest drive, the widest choice of flights, and dual carriageway for most of the way. Pick BJV or DLM only when you are combining Pamukkale with a coastal stay. AYT works for Antalya-based itineraries, but at 340 km it suits an overnight rather than a day trip.

Planning your visit
The travertine terraces have two entrances. The south gate puts you at the top, where you walk down barefoot through the pools. The north gate starts at Hierapolis and suits you better if the ancient city is the priority. Tell the driver which gate you want at booking, because the two are 4 km apart and walking between them takes an hour.
Most guests need four to five hours on site. For a day trip from the coast that means an early start: a 07:00 pickup at İzmir gets you there ahead of the midday crowds and back the same evening.
